Complaints Process

Vrbo, which stands for Vacation Rentals by Owner, is a popular vacation rental platform that allows homeowners to rent out their properties to travelers. However, like any company, Vrbo does receive complaints from its customers. If you have a complaint with Vrbo, here is how you can go about resolving the issue:

1. Contact customer service: The first step in resolving any complaint with Vrbo is to contact their customer service team. You can reach their customer service team via email, phone, or Twitter. Be sure to provide as much detail as possible about your complaint so that they can help you effectively.

2. Provide evidence: If you have any evidence to support your complaint, make sure to provide it to Vrbo customer service. This can include screenshots of conversations or bookings, receipts, or any other relevant documentation.

3. Be patient: Resolving a complaint with Vrbo may take some time. Be patient and allow the customer service team to investigate the issue thoroughly. Follow up with them politely if you haven’t heard back after a reasonable amount of time.

4. Consider leaving a review: If your complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may want to consider leaving a review on Vrbo’s website. This can help alert other travelers to potential issues and can also prompt Vrbo to take action to address your complaint.

Introduction to the Company

Vrbo was founded in 1995 as a platform for vacation rental owners to advertise their properties to travelers. The company has since grown to become one of the largest vacation rental platforms in the world, with over 2 million unique places to stay available in 190 countries. Vrbo is now owned by Expedia Group and is headquartered in Austin, Texas. Despite the occasional complaint, many travelers continue to use Vrbo for their vacation rental needs due to its large selection of unique and memorable properties.

  1. I booked a property with you in December 2022, i went on today to check things for our trip to be absolutely shocked that our property had been cancelled. I wasn’t sent any notification about this no email no phone call just cancelled.
I am absolutely furious about this it was a gift for my husbands 60th birthday. I phoned vrbo to be told there was nothing could be done for me which i found absolutely disgusting.
I was told the property had been double booked that must be down to you as i booked this over a year ago.
Obviously the owner has been offered more money which is disgusting.
I will never book with vrbo again or recommend them to anyone.
