Uncover McDonald’s food serving time constraints, employee meal perks and their ‘seven-minute rule’ for serving fries.
How long can McDonald’s make you wait for food?
We do not set time limits on completing orders due to the vastly different busy periods, types of orders and special requests from customers that our crew see each day. We do have internal measures though to help us deliver better service and always strive to serve customers as quickly and efficiently as possible.
What is the McDonald’s free food rule?

Other locations allow you to take your employee meal home or offer a discount on food items. Absolutely not, not even on nine to ten hour days that I work without breaks.
What is the 7 minute rule at McDonald’s?
According to their website: “Once our fries are cooked, we hold them for a maximum of seven minutes in our warming cabinets to keep them hot and fresh for you to enjoy. Since quality is at the heart of everything we do at McDonald’s, we don’t serve any fries that have been held longer than seven minutes. “
How long should you have to wait for fast food?
Fast-food diners say “5 minutes or less.” Those willing to wait up to 15 minutes for their order are nearly triple that of fast-food eaters (13% to 5%), but the highest concentration of max wait time falls between 5 minutes (34%) and 10 minutes (30%).
