Hello,
today I went to greggs on Wheatley retail park, Wheatley Hall road Doncaster.
Which I have used before, I feel I need to raise this as I was disgusted by a staff member’s inability to interact with a young man with Down syndrome. During my time at the counter, the staff member Jake, proceeded to look at this young man and then serve the people behind him, and again when he had finished with those customers he went to serve those behind the downs young man again, at which I said, “ actually it’s this young man’s turn” Jake served him and stared at him while he was bagging the two muffins up, Jake continued to stare while serving him, which the young man body language showed he was uncomfortable, I believe Jake could do with some training on how to interact with people, especially with disabilities, as I know from your company ethos that you believe that committed to inclusive, honest respectful just part of staff roll but this should work both ways, the key here are inclusive and respectful, Jake did not show respect or inclusivity to this young man who was quietly waiting for his turn.
I just felt that this needed to be raised, as this should not have happened.
Regards
Kathryn
